This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 502 /2023 ( 4 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 8753 for "tampons"; (25 page(s), in Arabic).
It should be noted that the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/344 dated 21 February 2023.
Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with the following:
• ISO 17516/ 2014
• 2014/391/EU "Eco- label for bed mattresses"
• Edana Code of practice for tampons Version 3: September 2020
• CFR - code of federal regulations Title 21 Volume 8 Sec 801.430: 20 Jul 2022 for user labelling for menstrual tampons
• AS 2869 /2008 for tampons - Menstrual
Date of adoption: 18 December 2023.

Date of entry into force: 5 January 2024
