This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 248/2025 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 8390 "General Standard for Cheese" (17 page(s), in Arabic)

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 611/2020 which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/283 dated 30 March 2021, mandated among others the earlier version of this Egyptian standard.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with modification with Codex Standard CXS 283‑1978 Formerly CODEX STAN A-6-1973, adopted in 1978, revised in 1999, amended in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2024.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption: 11 August 2025.

Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
