This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 248/2025 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 1903 "Powdered Sugar (icing sugar)" (10 pages, Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 130 /2005 (11 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/1 dated 14 December 2005, mandated among others the earlier version of this Egyptian Standard.

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with Codex Standard CXS 212 "Sugars", adopted in 1999, amended in 2001, 2019 and 2022.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption: 11 August 2025.

Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
