This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 248/2025 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 3-5 " processed feed - animal feeding stuffs - part 5: barley kernels in animal feed" (11 pages, Arabic).

It should be noted that Ministerial Decree No. 130 /2005 (11 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/1 dated 14 December 2005, mandated among others the earlier version of this Egyptian Standard.

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with:

Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Decree No. 1498/1996 regarding the regulation, manufacture, circulation and control of feed.
USDA Grain inspection handbook, Book 11 Barley 2013.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption: 11 August 2025.

Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
